Gary (Mac) Mckenzie

Gary (Mac) McKenzie, 69 of Valdosta, died on Sunday, August 27, 2006 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born September 25, 1936, in Bement, IL he was the son of the late Norman and Ales Musser McKenzie. He was a veteran of the United State Air Force and served during Vietnam. He retired from the Civil Service and was a weather forecaster.

Survivors are his wife, Sonja Thompson McKenzie of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Joan McKenzie of Mt. Holly, PA; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Stephen Serna of Valdosta, Susan and Michael Reyes of Clovis, NM, Sally and Henry Brannan of Pineville, La; 13 grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Stanley and Lavonna McKenzie of Grand Junction, CO and Ronald McKenzie of Shelbyville, IL. He was also preceded in death by a son, Patrick McKenzie, a sister, Joan McKenzie and a brother, Keith McKenzie.


Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2006 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Willis officiating. Interment services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2006 at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
