Gary Don Williams

Gary Don Williams, 69, of Hahira died Friday, January 20, 2017 at his home. He was born on August 17, 1947 in Carlsbad, New Mexico and had lived in Lowndes County since 1980. Mr. Williams was a member of the Morningside Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and enjoyed teaching Sunday School. He was a DARE Officer and Deputy with the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office and also a Gideon.
Survivors include his wife of forty six years, Louise Goodyear Williams of Hahira; his daughter and son in law, Kari Anne and Chaz Bowden of Valdosta; his son and daughter in law, Benjamin and Niki Williams of Nashville, TN; numerous aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald P. and Vida Louise Sappington Williams; his parents in law, D. R. and Margie Goodyear.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Morningside Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery in Hahira. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5-7pm at the Carson McLane Funeral Home, 2215 N. Patterson St., Valdosta, GA 31602.
