Garry Thornton

Garry Thornton, 54, of Lake Park, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015, at his home.

He was born August 14, 1961, in Valdosta, a son of Nancy Thornton and the late Willie Lee Thornton. Garry was a wonderful husband, father, Papa and son-in-law, and loved his dog, Rex. He will be loved and missed by all and in our hearts forever. He was a wonderful man of God, and he loved playing music and singing.

In addition to his mother, Garry is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Marie Thornton of Lake Park; three children, Garry Eugene Thornton of Warner Robins, Alisha Robidoux and husband Joshua of Valdosta, and William Lee Thornton and fiancé Maria Parmer of Valdosta; three grandchildren, Landen Lee Robidoux, Nickalas Thornton and Elijah Kane Thornton; two adopted sons, Dewey Connell of Valdosta, and Larry Connell of Statenville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Sarah Thornton, Tony and Regina Thornton, all of Warner Robins, and Steve and Brenda Thornton of Murfreesboro, TN; one sisters and brother-in-law, Debbie and Harold Bennett of Warner Robins; his mother-in-law, Ann Thornton of Lake Park; sister-in-law, Teresa Thornton of Lake Park; four brothers-in-law, Devane Thornton of Lake Park, Darrell Thornton and wife Penny of Hogansville, Wilson Eugene Thornton of Valdosta, and Michael Edward Thornton and wife Tammy of Clyattville; special nephews and nieces, Austin Wayne Thornton of Lake Park, Heather Nicole Thornton of Adel, Paul Thomas Brumback, Jr. and wife Tara of Atlanta, Selena Mitchell of Greenville, Sabrina Thornton of Hogansville, Brittany Chambers and husband Brandon of Hogansville, Kayla Jean Hill and husband Loni of Hogansville, and Jeff Thornton and wife Miranda of Warner Robins; and many additional nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Thornton of Warner Robins.
