Garnette Evelyn Davis Boyd, 96, of Valdosta, passed away on August 21, 2014 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born March 15, 1918 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Donald D. and Pearl Fancher Davis. Mrs. Boyd toured the country working in vaudeville and the circus, working with the likes of Van Arnam's Circus and appearing in Floyd King's "The Hit Parade" where she met her late husband, Roger Boyd Sr. At one time she owned a pet store in Indianapolis that specialized in exotic pets. She loved her family, especially her great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Marina Boyd; Grandson and wife, Marcelo and Amber Boyd; Great granddaughters, Annalise and Teagan Boyd, all of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald D. and Pearl Fancher Davis; husband, Roger Boyd Sr.; brother, Donald Davis Jr.; son, Ronald Boyd.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Boyd will be held in the Mausoleum at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 2:00 pm with entombment to follow.
