Gail Jerome Sparks

March 16, 1922 — April 7, 2011

Gail Jerome Sparks, 89, of Valdosta died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on March 16, 1922 in Cassian, Wisconsin to the late Herbert Bruce and Ida Bjorgan Sparks and had lived in Valdosta since 1959. Mr. Sparks was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, retired from Owens-Illinois Forest Products Division after forty years of service and served in the United States Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife of sixty five years, Frances Steinbach Sparks of Valdosta, his three children and their spouses, Greg (Arlene) Sparks of Perrysburg, Ohio, Daryl (Jan) Sparks, Renee (John) Akers all of Valdosta, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Monday, April 11, 2011 at Messiah Lutheran Church with Rev. Richard Pieplow officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
