G. Thomas Love

G. Thomas Love, 80, of Valdosta and Perry, Florida died on Saturday, January 1, 2011. He was born on March 30, 1930 in Glendale, West Virginia to the late Thomas R. and Doris Mitchell Love and grew up in Wellsburg, West Virginia where he graduated from Wellsburg High School. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from West Virginia University in 1957 and practiced law in Wellsburg for numerous years. He moved to Valdosta, GA in 1968 and taught Business Law at Valdosta State College until his retirement. He relocated to Perry, Fla and enjoyed fishing and traveling with his loving companion, Beverly Scribner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Sue Bowen Love, a former mathematics teacher at Lowndes County High School.

Survivors include his four children and their spouses, Thomas Alan and Jane Love of Birmingham, Ala., Robert Bowen (Bob) and Sheila Love of Kathleen, GA., William Francis (Bill) and Sala Love of Valdosta, Peggy Sue Love of Glendale, AZ., five grandchildren, April Jo Love Booth, Bowen Thomas Love, Stephen Poe Love, Blake Robert Love and Peyton Buschlen and his special companion, Beverly Scribner of Perry, Fla.

Graveside services will be held at 11am, January 5, 2011 at Riverview Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mac Weaver officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
