G. B. Waters

G. B. Waters, 87, lifelong resident of Valdosta, died on Friday, February 2, 2007 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born on September 29, 1919 in Valdosta, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Waters, Sr. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater of Operations. He loved to work and worked every day of his life. Mr. Waters was a farmer, very active in planting crops, gardens and livestock. He was the owner and operator of Waters Garage for many years.

Survivors are his wife, Fae Waters of Valdosta; grandsons, Derrick Waters and Jason Waters of West Palm Beach, FL; stepchildren, Bobby Lee, Jr. & Susanna Sutton and Brad Sutton; step grandchildren, Jason Sutton and Brittaney Sutton of San Angelo, TX; and a nephew, Marvin Byrd of Atlanta. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Waters, sons, Gerald Waters, Rob Waters and sisters, Ola Moore and Kathleen Byrd.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 5, 2007 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Gene Wisehart officiating. Burial will follow at Cat Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
