Frieda Sosno Spieler

Frieda Sosno Spieler died Friday, April 03, 2015 at age 94. She resided in Denver, CO for 32 years, moved to Valdosta, GA where she lived for 42 years before moving to the Jewish Tower, Atlanta, GA where she lived for 20 years and then Sunrise of Buckhead for two years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Edward Spieler and her daughter Adrienne Spieler Rosenberg. Survivors are son, Mark Spieler and his husband Peter Bjerkerot, of Atlanta, GA; granddaughter, Jennifer Rosenberg; grandson, Brian Rosenberg both of Greenville, SC; several nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. There are also many special friends who will remember her.
Frieda Spieler was a member of the Valdosta Hebrew Congregation and Valdosta Hadassah-Sisterhood. She held many leadership positions in the Valdosta congregation and was a lifetime member of Hadassah-Sisterhood. She was a docent in the Valdosta University art gallery, served as a volunteer in the Family Services program at Moody AFB. She was a charter member of the Readers Review book club. She also worked at the Valdosta Daily Times in various departments of the newspaper.
In Atlanta she was an active friend of Congregation Bet Haverim and attended Ahavath Achim synagogue . She served on the senior and advocacy committee of the AA and was the Jewish Tower representative to the AA. When she was a resident of the Jewish Tower she participated in many volunteer activities.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, April 6, 2015, at Sunset Cemetery in Valdosta, GA. A memorial service will be held in Atlanta, GA on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 6:30pm at Congregation Bet Haverim.
