Frederick Phillip Baugh, 70, of Leesburg, died on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany. He was born on December 10, 1946 in Hahira to the late Homer and Martha Thompson Braden. Later, he was adopted by Martha Thompson’s second husband, John T. Baugh. Mr. Baugh had been a self-employed auto mechanic and later worked with the Williams Company as a paint contractor. Mr. Baugh was an avid University of Georgia Bulldogs fan as well as a huge fan of NASCAR. He had a love of animals, especially dogs and cats, and worked with rescue dogs. Mr. Baugh also enjoyed acting, both as a hobby and a profession. He appeared in many movies and television shows as an extra. He attended churches from Westside Baptist Church in Valdosta, First Baptist Church in Leesburg, and First Baptist of Crystal River.
Survivors include his sister, Martha Perkins of Leesburg; his cousins, Curtis and Nell Johnson of Ray City, and Mary Catherine Carter of Naylor, and other extended family and friends.
Services for Mr. Frederick Phillip Baugh will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2017 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Austin Wynn officiating. The burial will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
