Frederick A. (Fred) Brownell, 77, of Hahira passed away Friday, June 15, 2018 in Summerville, South Carolina. He was born in Corning, New York on June 24, 1940 to the late Galen Stillman and Margaret Odle Brownell and lived in New York before moving to Hahira twenty-one years ago. Mr. Brownell was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from TM Polyfilm in Valdosta. He was a member of the Southport New York Fire Department and enjoyed being with people who made him laugh.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Sally of Hahira; two sons, Galen Brownell of Summerville, SC and Scott Brownell of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, Jennifer Brownell of Charleston, SC and Justin Brownell of North Charleston, SC; one great grandson, Tristan Brownell of Charleston, SC; a very special daughter-in-law Barbara Chandler of Charleston, SC; lifelong friends, Lois Donahue of Plattsburg, NY and Janet Bruning of Lockport, NY.
Funeral services will be held at 4pm, Saturday, June 23, 2018 in the chapel of the Martin/McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery.
