Freddy Norris, 64, of Valdosta, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016 from a trucking accident. He was born April 18, 1952 in Adel, GA to the late Fred and Ruth Norris. Freddy lived in Valdosta most of his life. He was a 1970 graduate of Valdosta High School and a proud member of the Marching Cats. Freddy graduated from Valdosta State College with a degree in management. He loved playing football with his Delta Chi brothers. Freddy spent most of his professional life as a truck driver. He began his trucking career during college with Holland Oil Company and was later employed by Bayliner Marine. Freddy was currently employed by Georgia Petroleum as a tanker driver. He was a people person, loved life-all kind of sports, flying, his family and friends, music and fellowshipping with his church family at Morningside Baptist Church.
Freddy is survived by his wife, Sue Link Norris of Valdosta, his son, John Norris of San Antonio, TX, his brother and sister in law, Bobby and Patti Mayer of Valdosta, his sister and brother in law, Carolyn Jean and Donnie Kirkland of Nashville, brothers in law and sisters in law, David and Linda Link of Ocala, FL and Andy Link of Sugar Hill, GA, mother in law, Patty Link of Valdosta, an Aunt, several nephews and extended family.
A celebration of Freddy's life will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at two p. m. at Morningside Baptist Church with Reverend Wayne Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from six until nine p. m. Tuesday at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
