Fred J. Curcio, Jr.

January 17, 1944 — March 16, 2018

Fred J. Curcio Jr., 74, passed away suddenly on Friday March 16, 2018 at his home in Valdosta, Georgia with his wife, his three children and his beloved Holly by his side.

He was the husband and world to Peggy Moss Curcio and they shared a storybook love affair for 55 years.

Freddie was born in Vineland, New Jersey, January 17th, 1944 to the late Fred & Marie Curcio. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Moss Curcio, daughters Kristi Graham (James) Heather Hutchison (Arran); son, Matthew Curcio; grandchildren, Ken, Haleigh and Emaleigh Hutchison, CJ and Rylee Graham, Jenna and Nickalas Curcio as well as family and many friends.

Fred was in the produce business, working first in his own transfer business at Pompano State Farmers Market, then joining Wakefern Food Corp. (Shop-Rite) in 1968 as a produce buyer, retiring in 2014 after 46 years of service. He was a mentor to many and will be remembered fondly for his hard work, diligence and loyalty. He had many friends up and down the East Coast, spending every summer traveling with his family in tow, to procure the best fruits and vegetables for Wakefern.

Fred loved golf, cooking (mostly Italian!), entertaining his family and friends, fine restaurants and traveling. He was famous for his “Sunday Night Pasta Dinner” where everyone was welcomed. “Freddie,” “Daddy,” “Dad,” “Pepa” & “Peeps,” he was a man who will be in our hearts forever.
