Franklin Tilfred Cole, Jr.

Frank Tilfred Cole, Jr., age 69 died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Methodist Medical Center in Oakridge, TN. He was born March 6, 1944, to Frank T. Cole, Sr., and Ida Mae Fields Cole. Frank graduated from Quitman High School, Quitman, Georgia, before joining the U.S. Air Force. He was passionately proud of his military service and spent many years as an active member of the VFW while living as a retiree in Eddington, Maine. Frank shared 47 years of laughing and loving with his wife, Dorothy. They explored the world together during his military assignments, raised children, and later became caretakers to Dorothy's great aunt and mother. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Oakridge, Tennessee.
Frank is survived by his wife Dorothy; daughter Julie Upham and son-in-law Jeremy Upham; daughter Debi Colvais and son-in-law Francis Colvais; granddaughters Karyssa Upham, Abby Colvais, Kelsi Upham, Marisa Colvais, and Lauren Upham; brother Benny Cole and sister-in-law Betty Cole; sister Evangeline Cole Griffin; brother Harry Miley and sister-in-law Lisa Miley; sister-in-law Joan Diehl; and numerous nieces and nephews, and their spouses, most of whom are pretty sure they were Frank's favorite. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Lamar and Remer Miley, sister Lorene Cole Cooper, and his sister Judy Cole.
Funeral services will be held at Martin/Mclane Funeral Home in Hahira at 10:00 o'clock a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Dr. Wayne Robertson will officiate. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Hahira. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
