Frank Willard Wilson

Frank Willard Wilson, 89, of Quitman and formerly of Hahira died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at the Brooks County Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Franklin County, Georgia on October 18, 1919 to the late Sam and Flora Mitchell Wilson and had lived in this area for many years. Mr. Wilson was a driver for the Dodge Dealership and a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in World War II. He was a Baptist. Mr. Wilson enjoyed the Saturday Morning Brooks County Men's Bible Study Group and watching baseball on television and watching his friends young sons play baseball.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons in law, Barbara and Donald Cobb of Conyers, Angie and Bill Sweetnam of Punta Gorda, Fla., Sherry Houston of Athens, two stepsons and stepdaughter in law, Jerry and Iris Peek of Quitman, Grady David Peek of Nashville, stepdaughter and stepson in law, Betty and John Mullins of Lakeland, several grandchildren and several great grandchildren, two sisters, Emma Lee Wetherington of Greenwood, SC. and Grace Pearson of Troy, SC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Peek Wilson and a brother, Jack Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Friday, April 10, 2009 at the McIntosh Retirement Center Chapel-Presbyterian Home in Quitman with the Rev. Jay Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:30p.m. until service time at the McIntosh Chapel.
