Francis (Frank) Kassum, 72, of Valdosta died on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at his home following a period of declining health. He was born on August 19, 1945 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Alex Francis and Francis Eleanor Chochrane Kassum. Mr. Kassum retired from the United States Air Force and served during Vietnam. He was a big motorcycle enthusiast, loved to collect guns, and especially received a lot of joy and pleasure in giving silver dollar coins to children anywhere he went. Mr. Kassum was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Alan McLendon; sons, Mark Kassum and Raymond Kassum; daughter, Tiffany Fudge all of Valdosta; sons and daughters-in-law, Jonathan and Heather Kassum of Warner Robins, and Christopher and Julie Kassum of Hickory, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren, and the mother of his children, Ruth Kassum.
Services for Frank Kassum will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Alan McLendon and Bishop Thurston Spivey officiating. The burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
