Frances Wiatt Cordova

Frances Wiatt Cordova, 80, of Tampa, FL, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2014 surrounded by her family and her loving friends at Hudson Manor. She was born in Rome, Ga on June 8, 1934 to the late John Edward Wiatt and Frances Oswalt Wiatt. Mrs. Cordova lived for many years in Valdosta, being active in her younger years with the Women of the Georgia Power Company and a faithful supporter of the Humane Society of Valdosta & Lowndes County. She recently moved to be near her daughter in Tampa because of her health. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her daughter, Frances Cordova Strauch (Karl) of Tampa, FL; Sons, Joseph James "Jay" Cordova of Atlanta, GA and John Edward Cordova of McLean, Virginia; her grandchildren, Mary McLane "Greta" Cordova of Atlanta, Taylor Nicole Strauch and Kelsie Elizabeth Strauch, both of Tampa, FL; her longtime friends James Nelton Crosby and Nell Crosby.

A graveside committal of the cremains will be held at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens for the family at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Humane Society of Valdosta/Lowndes County, 307 E. Jane Street, Valdosta, GA 31602.
