Frances Jarrard

Frances Jarrard, 75, of Echols County, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Langdale Hospice in Valdosta. She was born January 7, 1939 to the late Eddie and Mamie DeLoach Maine. She was a member of the Statenville Baptist Church and worked as a substitute teacher for the Echols County Schools as long as her health permitted. She had a career with Levi Strauss where she excelled in her work as a supervisor before she retired after 39 years. Mrs. Jarrard held a deep love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and all children. She greatly enjoyed playing dominoes with her Friday afternoon domino group and was a big fan of basketball, both college and professional. She was loved and respected by all who were fortunate to know her and she will be missed by everyone.

She is survived by her children, Patsy & Wayne Lane of Quitman, Barbara Brown of Valdosta, Cecilia Jarrard of Statenville, Selena & Jim Moore of Dawsonville, Sharon & Charlie Borg of Acworth, Chris Jarrard of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Chris Lane, Casey (Stephanie) Lane, Derek Hunter, Philip (Kathy) Brown, Bridget (Zack) Bennington, Heather (Blake) Chamblee, Brittney Borg, Trey Moore; great grandchildren, Morgan, Braxton & Harlie Lane, Blake & Katelyn Kotterman, Pierce & Zander Bennington, Allie & Joe Hunter, Landon & Owen Brown; Sisters & Brothers in Law, Jean Davis, of Mayday, Eloise & Frank Helton, Gail & Dee Dee Fussel all of Valdosta, Sandy & Frank Reifel, Bonnie & Bud Lowery, Janet & Allen McDowell, Margie & Bucky Davis all of Dallas, GA; brother, Bobby Maine of Valdosta; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and special friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Jarrard, and her brother Edward (Buddy) Maine.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 8, 2014 at the Statenville Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Statenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park from 6 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2014.
