FRANCES HAMMOND FUNDERBURK

FRANCES HAMMOND FUNDERBURK, 79, of Valdosta died Friday, April 1, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on February 25, 1926 in LaFayette, Georgia to the late James LaFayette and Neta Stuckey Hammond and had lived in this area for thirty four years. Mrs. Funderburk was a homemaker, volunteer and a retired school teacher. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Past Province Vice President-Alpha Gamma Delta visitng 65 college campuses throughout the U. S. and Canada for which she earned an arc with two diamonds. She was Past President of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Past President of Wymodausis, a member of PEO, Volunteer at Annette Howell Turner Arts Center. She was also a member of the Ladies Golf Association at the Valdosta Country Club and attended Brenau College, graduated from University of Georgia with BS in Math and graduated from Mercer University with a MS in Math.

Survivors include her husband of fifty three years, Carl Funderburk of Valdosta, son and daughter in law, John and Missy Funderburk of Albany, a daughter and son in law, Amy Funderburk Henderson and Brantley Henderson of Tallahassee, Fla., grandsons, Jay Funderburk and Jordan Funderburk both of Albany and Will Henderson of Tallahassee, Fla.

Funeral services will be held at 4pm, Sunday, April 3, 2005 at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. J. Bradford Sears officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Break Bread of First Presbyterian Church, Valdosta, GA or to the LaFayette Presbyterian Church in LaFayette, GA.
