Frances H. Crosby, 91, of Valdosta died on Monday, October 14, 2013 at the Langdale Hospice House after a brief illness. She was born on March 3, 1922 to the late Alton and Ena Haywood and had lived in Valdosta for the past ten years moving here from Athens, Georgia. Mrs. Crosby was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. The last few years one of her greatest joys was her three great grandsons. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church where she was involved in the Women's Missionary Group praying daily for missionaries around the world.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Susan and Bob Middleton of Valdosta, a daughter in law, Ann Crosby of Marietta, GA., grandchildren and their spouses, Meredith and Brian Foskey of Valdosta, Lauren and Jeff Miller of McDonough, GA, Haley Middleton of Denver, CO, Michael Crosby of Marietta, GA, Christopher Crosby of Canada, Jonathan Crosby of Marietta, GA., her brother, K. V. Haywood of Plant City, FL, three great grandsons, Carson Foskey, Dalton Foskey and Emery Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar M. Crosby and a son, Varon Crosby.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from 6-8pm at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2pm CST, Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Heflin City Cemetery in Heflin, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Foreign Missions Offering in c/o of Northside Baptist Church, 200 E.
