Frances H. Alderman, 89, of Valdosta died Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at the Fellowship Home after a lengthy illness with cancer. She was born on November 15, 1918 in Chase City, Virginia to the late Oliver C. and Lillie Lea Hall Harrison and had lived in Valdosta since 1980. Mrs. Alderman was a member of the Redland Baptist Church, the American Legion, Woodmen of the World and AARP.
Survivors include two daughters, Leah Sinuck of Inman, SC., and Reatha Pavey of Valdosta, one son and daughter in law, Thomas and Mary Prescott of Cowpens, SC., 12-grandsons and many great grandchildren, two brothers, Howard Harrison of Tryon, NC. and Joe Harrison of Ft. McCoy, Fla., two sisters, Dorothy Greenway and Millie Woodward both of Tryon, NC. and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George S. Alderman, a son, Richard Harrison and a brother, Louie Harrison.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, August 13, 2008 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Jay Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 from 5-7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Hospice, 101 W.
