Frances Greene Mathis

Frances Greene Mathis, 81, of Valdosta, died on Friday, January 21, 2005 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Frances was born on March 10, 1923 to the late Dan L. and Etta Greene. She was a homemaker.

Frances is survived by a daughter and fiancé, Sonia White and Ron Myers of Brooks County; a daughter and son in law, Gloria and Earl Zipperer of Clyattville; four granddaughters and their spouses, Robin and Doug Bearrentine, Laine and Bobby Chaney, Jr., Lorri and Bart Rogers, Helen and Derrick Black: Great grandchildren, Amber and Jake Bearrentine, Nicole and Megan Chaney, Haley and Morgan Rogers, Hunter Black; sister and brother in law, Stella and “Coot” Rowland of Valdosta; Two brothers in law, Gilbert Jaramillo of Valdosta and Larue Bryan of Clyattville; Three sisters in law, Louise Greene, Mae Greene, Marlyn Green of Lake Park; A long time friend Lillie Mae Dees. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Mathis.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2005, in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Benevolence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Odyssey Healthcare, 1001 Williams St, Valdosta, GA, 31602.
