Frances Brown Jordan

Frances Brown Jordan, 101, died peacefully on April 5, 2018.
She was born March 20,1917 to the late Frederick Milford and Emma Trammell Brown.
Frances married the love of her life, Riley L. Jordan in 1944 and followed him during his time in the service until he was deployed overseas. During their 52 years of marriage, they enjoyed gardening and camping trips. They grew beautiful camellias and won numerous blue ribbons with the blossoms.
She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church, the Dorcus Sunday School Class, the WMU, and the Keenagers.
Frances was a retired home economics teacher and taught in Worth, Brooks, and Lowndes Counties.
She was a member of the Lowndes-Valdosta Retired Educators and the Georgia Retired Educators.
She was the oldest living member of the original Golden Strummers, a group of women who played ukuleles.
Preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three sisters and two brothers, Frances is survived by a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Graveside services will be held Monday, April 9, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Hillcrest Cemetery, Sylvester, GA with Dr. Ken Alford officiating. The family will receive friends at Carson McLane Funeral Home on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 5-7 PM.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund of Crossroads Baptist Church, 3001 Country Club Drive, Valdosta, GA 31602.
