Foster D. Stanley

Foster D. Stanley, 68, of Boston, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Archbold Medical Center, Thomasville.
He was born September 15, 1947, in Lowndes County, where he grew up, a son of the late J.D. and Sarah L. Lehman Stanley. Foster honorably served in the United States Army as a Specialist E5 X-ray Technician in Vietnam, and worked for over thirty years as an MRI Technician at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville. He was a member of Central Church of Christ, Monticello, FL, and was a member of the Withlacoochee Hunting Club, where he enjoyed spending his free time. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and talking, but most of all he loved his family, family get-togethers and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Betty G. Stanley of Boston; two sons, Jason Foster Stanley and wife Nicole Bellamy Stanley of Thomasville, and Jeffrey Eric Stanley and fiancé Jessica Paauwe of Coolidge; eleven grandchildren, Jackson Reid Stanley (16), Perry Chester Stanley (15), Andrew Reagan Stanley (11), Savannah Elizabeth Stanley (9), Lucy Jill Stanley (7), Brittany Mae Salmons (18), Tiffany Fay Salmons (17), Caitlyn Karina Salmons (15), Christian Louis James Bengtsson (13), Hunter Elijah Travis Stanley (3) and Jessalyn Elizabeth Stanley (1); five sisters, H. Elizabeth Sutton of Adel, Patsy Thompson of Lake Park, Maxine Swilley and husband Wayne of Valdosta, Rhonda Marie Neighbors and husband Kevin of Clyattville, and Betty Ann Battles and husband Ken of Clyattville; two brothers, David Rocky Odum, Sr. and wife Peggy of Nashville, TN, and George Stanley and wife Deborah of Jennings, FL; a special aunt, Dorothy Newham of Valdosta; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jonathan Travis Stanley.
The Funeral Service for Mr. Stanley will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at Sardis Baptist Church, Lake Park, with Rev. Andy Daughtry and Mr. Phil Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at 2750 Judie Ann Road, Valdosta.
