Floyd McNeal, 62, of Hahira died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 after a brief illness. He was born on January 19, 1955 to Audrey and the late Orvis McNeal, and he lived in Hahira all his life. Floyd was a proud graduate of Lowndes High School, attended UGA, and was a lifetime member of the Hahira United Methodist Church. Floyd loved flowers and was president of the Valdosta Daylily Club, a certified Daylily Judge and successful Daylily grower having developed many new names and strains of plant. Floyd worked many years for the Old Times Country Buffet family of restaurants. Floyd is survived by his mother Audrey McNeal, nephew Chris Connell, and niece Calesta Manasco.
Per his wishes, Floyd will be cremated and a Memorial Service, presided over by Pastor Mike Davis, will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 3:30pm at the United Methodist Church of Hahira followed by an early dinner in the church dining cafeteria.
