Floyd Goldman, Jr.

November 20, 1931 — April 5, 2009

Floyd Goldman, Jr., 77, of Valdosta, died on Sunday, April 5, 2009, at South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness. Born in Mobile, Alabama on November 20, 1931, he was the son of the late Floyd and Beatrice Bozeman Goldman. Floyd was a hairstylist. He was the former owner of the Hair Clinic and Floyd’s Country Manor. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was inducted into service at Ft. Bragg. During his military career Mr. Goldman, served in Frankfurt, Germany with the Military Police, at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky with the 11th Airborne Division and he was involved with atomic testing at Eniwetok Island. He was discharged from the Army while stationed at Ft. Dix, New Jersey. Mr. Goldman was a member of Central Avenue Church of Christ.

Survivors are his wife, Sandra Green Goldman of Valdosta; a son and daughter in law, Brandon Floyd and Nicole Connell Goldman of Valdosta; brothers and sisters in law, Elmer and Lena Goldman of New Egypt, New Jersey, Joseph and Elaine Goldman of St. Stephen, Alabama; sister and brother in law, Flora and Billy Reeves of Satsuma, Alabama; father in law and mother in law, Bob and Mary Joyce Green of Valdosta; sisters in law and their spouses, Suzanne and Ret. Col. Kevin A. Bell of Beaver Creek, Ohio, Dana and Thom Wilkinson of Ponte Vedra, Florida, and brothers in law, Bob Milton Green, Jr. and John Riccio Green of Valdosta; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Mr. Brian Jarvis and Floyd's brother in law, John Green will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Ukraine Missions at Central Avenue Church of Christ @ 304 East Central Ave. Valdosta, GA 31601.
