Florence Rentz Hughes

Florence Rentz Hughes, 96 of Echols County, died on Monday, July 03, 2006 at Langdale Place. Born on July 24, 1909 in Echols Co., she was the daughter of the late Lev and Effie Marshall Rentz. She married the late Willie (Little Bill) Hughes on September 18, 1926 and they lived most of their married life in Fargo. She was a member of Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church and of AARP.

Survivors are sons and daughters-in-law, George R. and Imogene Hughes of Macon, Billy R. and Zelda Hughes of Eatonton; daughter and son-in-law, Florence Lounette and Bill Davis of Memphis, TN; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Bonner of Valdosta; a sister-in-law, Grace Rentz of Howell and a special niece, Mary Ann Ivey of Hahira as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hughes will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 7, 2006 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Elder Dwight Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the Wayfare Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
