Flois Lorraine Corbett Marvel, 76, of Ellijay and formerly of Valdosta died Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Heritage House Nursing Home. She was born on November 29, 1937 in Valdosta to the late James Owen and Julian Terry Corbett. Mrs. Marvel was a Methodist and loved traveling, hiking and canoeing. She was involved in organizations in Ellijay including PALS, CEO (Chicks Eating Out) and The Book and Wine Club.
Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Don Alan Marvel and Desire Marvel of Trabuco Canyon, Calif., her daughter and son in law, Diane Lynn Marvel Johnson and John M. Johnson of White, GA, her grandsons, Tanner Marvel and Cameron Marvel both of Trabuco Canyon, Calif., three sisters and two brothers in law, Ruby Corbett Dickson and James Dickson of Valdosta, Faye Corbett Mathis and Darrell Mathis of Blairsville, GA, Vicki Corbett Robertson of Valdosta, her brother, James J. Corbett of Valdosta, her aunt, Gladys Westberry Hendley of Valdosta, numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1pm, Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Carter Cemetery in Echols County with Rev. Stanley Luke officiating. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home.
