Ferrell Shelton, 69 of Quitman, died at his residence on Friday, August 8, 2008 following a lengthy illness. He was born in Altha, Florida on January 15, 1939 to the late James Arthur Shelton and Mellie Sewell Shelton. Mr. Shelton was retired from the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam. Mr. Shelton was a member of the VFW, Vietnam Veterans of America, and Crosspoint Church.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Shelton of Quitman; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Billy Shelton and Jimmy Shelton both of San Antonio, Texas and Bobby and Cathy Shelton of Ocala, Florida; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Rob Bollman of Romney, West Virginia, Margaret and Bob Smith of Denton, Texas; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother, Mellie Shelton of Blountstown, Florida; sisters and brothers, Roberta Slay of Mobile, Alabama, Robert Flanders of Altha, Florida, Melva Shelton and Dennis Shelton both of Plant City, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Ferrell Shelton will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at Crosspoint Church in Quitman with Pastor Steve Atkinson officiating. The burial will take place on Friday, August 15, 2008 at the Shiloh Cemetery in Altha, Florida at 12 p.m.(EST) / 11 a.m. (CST). The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Crosspoint Church building fund P.O.
