Ferdinand Fletcher, 79, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, November 9, 2006, at Fellowship Home after a lengthy illness. Born in Valdosta on March 8, 1927, he was the son of the late Frank N. and Minnie Lee Regan Fletcher. He was an Army Veteran and had been employed with Miller Concrete as a crane operator. <br><br>Survivors are his sisters, Nettie McLeod of Valdosta, Lois Arnold of Riverside, California, Alma Carson of Bowie, Maryland, brother, John Fletcher of Valdosta, a daughter, Joyce Shoup and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Fletcher was preceded in death by brothers, Horace, Oscar, Frank and Maxie Fletcher. <br><br>Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Jay Watkins will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday morning.
