FELTON (POPS) FORTHE, JR.

FELTON (POPS) FOR THE, JR., 71, of Lake Park died Friday, April 1, 2005 at his home after a brief illness. He was born on July 8, 1933 in Valdosta to the late Ira Forthe, Sr. and Julia Estell McCall For the. Mr. For the was a member of the First United Methodist Church and had served in the National Guard Armory. He was retired from the Lowndes County Board of Education as Maintenance Director and a lifetime member of FSU Alumini Association. Mr. Forthe was a life member of the Elks Lodge and the South Georgia Corvette Club.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda Forthe of Lake Park, two daughters and sons in law, Judy and Daryl Cumbass of Pearson, Susan and Chris Rigg of Valdosta, two sons and a daughter in law, Ashley and Kimberly Forthe of Cumming, GA. and Scott Forthe of Valdosta, one granddaughter, Hannah Forthe of Cumming, GA., one brother, Julian Forthe of Lake Park and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 5pm, Sunday, April 3, 2005 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Evans McMullen officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4pm until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, P. O.
