Faye Sirmans Gaither Zipperer, 70, died on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born on October 10, 1934 in Berrien County to the late Charlie and Clyide Moore Sirmans, she was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Southland Church. Mrs. Zipperer was also a volunteer for Hospice of South Georgia, the Humane Society and the Southland Church Food Pantry.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Tammie Gaither of Nashville; three daughters and a son-in-law, Dawn Rocheleau of Valdosta, Sharon Knea of Valdosta, Darlene and William Dedge of Naylor; eleven grandchildren, Chris Gaither, Jr., Austin Gaither, Ryan Rocheleau, Lucas Rocheleau, Levi Rocheleau, Larry Rogers, Jerrett Rogers, Chris Rogers, Alyssa Knea, Misty Smith, Sharee Tipton; seven great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Rogers, Kirstin Rogers, Taten Rogers, Clayton Rogers, Katie Dedge, Tiponi Tipton, Asher Smith; one sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and Raymond Brantley of Valdosta; one brother, Charles Sirmans, Sr.; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Zipperer, one grandson, Shawn Dedge and infant son, Gary Allen Gaither.
Services for Faye Sirmans Gaither Zipperer will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2005 at the McLane Riverview Mausoleum Chapel at 11 a.m with Reverend Lee Barnes and Reverend Doug Griner officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum. The visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of South Georgia, the Humane Society or the Southland Church Food Pantry.
