Faye Griffin, 82, of Barney died Thursday, May 16, 2013 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born on March 27, 1931 in Cook County to the late Dalton and Inell Gornto Brady. Mrs. Griffin was an active member and worker of the Hahira First Baptist Church until her decline. She loved her church and participated in the activities of her church where she started the Puppet Ministry, Bible Drills and served as Director of Training Union.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Griffin of Barney, daughter and son in law, Stephanie (Sissy) and Buddy Murray of Barney, daughter in law, Jane Griffin of Atlanta, her grandchildren, Davy Murray and his fiancée Rachel Chandler, Trina Murray and her fiancé, Erwin Buenviaje, Megan and Chris Moulthrop, Nikki and Brad Purvis, Erin and Matt Georgia, Michael Griffin, 8-great grandchildren, brother in law, Henry F. Griffin of Barney, sister in law, Christine Spooner of Jacksonville, FL, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Monty Griffin and Mike Griffin.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Hahira First Baptist Church with Rev. David Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery in Morven.
