Fay C. Gordon

Fay C. Gordon, 94, of Valdosta passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born on July 5, 1928 in Meigs, GA to the late Clell Ray Carlton and Leola Barwick Carlton. Mrs. Gordon was a homemaker and a member of Northside Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and flowers. Mrs. Gordon and her late husband, Dorsey David Gordon (who passed away on May 25, 2009) were avid golfers. She enjoyed daily bible study, reading, taught Sunday School and enjoyed ministering to children.
Mrs. Gordon is survived by her children, Fayne D. and Kathy Gordon of Valdosta, David R. and Alicia Gordon of Dawsonville and Julie G. Spooner of Destin, FL, grandchildren, Devoney Kent (Trae), Lori Tomlinson (Remi), Josh Gordon (Tesha), Jada Davies (Bob), Kelsey Willette (Andrew), Shelby Gordon, Celesta Boyd, Jarod Fulford, Crystal Henry (Justin), twenty two great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, sister, Carolyn Palmer of Dublin, sisters in law and brother in law, Rebecca Carlton of Soddy Daisy, TN, Sidney Lee Gordon and Glenda Gordon of Madison, FL and Patricia Ann Morgan of Marietta. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her son in law, John Spooner, brothers, Charles Carlton and Ray Carlton and sister, Etheline (Dean) Prevatt.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from ten a. m. until service time at the funeral home.
