Fannie Laura Patterson, 88, of Valdosta died Monday March 6, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center after a very brief illness. She was born in Brownwood, Texas on April 29, 1928 to the late Saba J. and Eva Francis Hoover Eaton and had lived in this area for many years. Mrs. Patterson was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church and retired from Texture Tex. She loved baking, sewing and playing BINGO. She was a wonderful caregiver for her family and anyone who had a need.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Barbara and Blake Pearce of Valdosta, Danny and Donna Patterson of Hahira, Laura and Billy Spell of Lake Park; son in law, Charlie P. Miley of Statenville; fourteen grandchildren and their spouses, Gary and Teresa Morris, Greg and Megan Morris, Gil and Renee' Morris, Jessica Laura and Owen Roberts, Dana and Glenn Gibbs, Deanna and Harry Turner, Daphney Terrell, Daniel and Kathryn Patterson, William Romain Spell, III, James Daniel Spell, Jennifer Miley, Melissa Gardner, Deborah Snyder, Bart and Jackie Williamson; 26-great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Lou Edgar and Eva Mae Stuart both of Brownwood, TX, Martha Caroline Hulsey of Odessa, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Patterson, a son, James Edward Patterson, two daughters, Eva Darlene Cantor and Jackie Jean Miley, a grandson, Sonny Williamson, a granddaughter, Shannon Elizabeth Cantor, a great granddaughter, Alissa Terrell, three brothers, Harry Eaton, David Eaton, Sydney Eaton and four sisters, Phyllis Jean Dunlap, Lucinda Eaton, Gracie J. Gentry and Ann Marie Aldrich.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Ryan Evans and Rev. James Stringer officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery in Hahira. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Greg Morris, Gary Morris, J.
