Ezra Merrill Tindall, Sr., 95, of Hahira, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Heritage House Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Tindall was born July 28, 1915 in Carey, a son of the late James E. and Lennie Belle Johnson Tindall. During training for World War II Mr. Tindall was employed with the civil service at Moody Air Force Base. For over twenty years he owned and operated multiple service stations in Valdosta, and retired from Valdosta Lincoln-Mercury in 1970.
He was a member of Forrest Park Church of Christ and was a fifty year member of St. John the Baptist Masonic Lodge. He was a passionate and avid gardener.
Mr. Tindall is survived by two sons and daughter-in-laws, Merrill and Donna Tindall of Blackshear, and Robert and Bonnie Tindall of Valdosta; five grandchildren, Lyn (Keith) Stewart of Acworth, Jeff (Mary) Tindall of Jacksonville, AR, Jon (Mindee) Tindall of Waycross, Chris (Gena) Tindall of Valdosta, and Matt (Jennie) Tindall of Hahira; and ten great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Eunice Louise Seago Tindall, and by three brothers.
Funeral Services for Mr. Tindall will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at the Martin-McLane Funeral Home of Hahira, with Minister Ryan Tuten officiating. Interment will follow with Masonic Rites at Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
