Evelyn Spells, 91, of Valdosta, died on Monday, March 31, 2025, at South Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born on March 13, 1934, in Berrien County to the late Bruner and Lilly Bell Noles Wheeler and has been a lifelong resident of the local area. Mrs. Spells was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Spells is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William Gary and Lisa Spells and her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Bill Jenkins, all of Valdosta; her granddaughter, Hope Gonzalez of Valdosta; her great-grandchildren, Ethan Ramirez, Parker Folsom, Ayden Gonzalez, and Aria Gonzalez; her two sisters, Lillian Starling and Betty Lou Rogers as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband, William Lamar Spells, and a grandson, Chad Folsom.
A graveside service for Evelyn Spells will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane.
