Evelyn McRae DeLoach, 99, of Valdosta passed this life on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman. She was born in Ashville, Florida on September 21, 1911 to the late Albert Jones and Julia Yates McRae and was reared on the family farm near Morven. Mrs. DeLoach attended and graduated from high school in Morven. She lived most of her life in Valdosta and also had lived in Ocala and Leesburg, Florida. Mrs. DeLoach was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her sister, Melba M. DeLoach of Valdosta, two sons and a daughter in law, James Fredrick (Fred) DeLoach, Jr. of Valdosta, Dewey Steven and Carol DeLoach of Orlando, Fla., three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Fredrick (Fred) DeLoach, Sr. and two brothers, A.J. McRae and Ralph McRae.
Graveside services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Mt. Horeb Cemetery in Morven with the Rev. Richard Hart officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Break Bread Program, 313 N. Patterson St., Valdosta, GA 31601.
