Evelyn F. Rice

Evelyn F. Rice, 77, of Hahira, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Warwick, GA on June 21, 1933 to the late Jim F. and Grace Pearson Gill. Mrs. Rice was a retired supervisor from Weeks Textile and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her daughter, Norma Jean O'Bryant of Tifton, four step children, Aaron Rice, Frankie Rice, Lynn Rice and Stevie Rice, one sister, Gwendolyn Gill of Warm Springs, GA, her brother in law, James McGraw of Woodbury, GA, two special friends, Dean Turner and Helen Hurst, numerous step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Rice is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Rice and her sister, Vinita McGraw.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 16, 2010 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira with Reverend Leonard Harnage and Chaplain Yolanda Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
