Evelyn D. Davis

Evelyn D. Davis, 84, of Valdosta died Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Heritage Healthcare at Lakehaven Nursing Home. She was born on April 10, 1926 in Jesup to the late Willie C. and Vonnie Yeomans Dukes and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mrs. Davis was a retired sales clerk with Sears and a member of Northside Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School for many years. She was involved with her children's and grandchildren's activities until her health declined.

Survivors include two daughters and sons in law, Janice and Billy Joseph of Charlotte, NC., Debbie and Donnie Howell of Valdosta, one son and daughter in law, Glenn and Brenda Davis of Simpsonville, SC., six grandchildren, Travis Howell, Tripp Howell, William Joseph, Jaime Joseph, Stephanie Davis Bruce and Amanda Davis Jones, six great grandchildren, one sister, Betty Janke of Beaufort, SC., one brother, Eddie McManus of Prudenville, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, I. Barnie Davis and three sisters and one brother.

Graveside services will be held at 1pm, Friday, February 4, 2011 at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Rev. Bob Willis officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
