Evelyn Christine Mcmichen

Evelyn Christine McMichen, 84 of Valdosta, passed away Saturday, April 21 st , at the Langdale Hospice House after a long illness. She was born in Hiram, Ga , January 15, 1928 to the late Homer E. and Claudie C. Hembree. Even in declining health, Evelyn touched all with her beautiful smile and kind heart. She was truly the center of her family. Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Evelyn was also a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church.
Evelyn is survived by her five children, all in Valdosta, Carol Jeter (Jimmy), Jan Brooks (Jerry), Ann McMichen, Donna Oliver (Hollis) and Son, Robert McMichen (Lin); her grandchildren, Christy Howell (Mike), Georgia Kelley, Michael Mulligan, Jennifer Sutton, Joanna Sutton, Alden York, and Mackenzie McMichen; six great grandchildren, Altman Howell, Evelyn Howell, Josh Legette, Lindsay Kelley, Kalynn Kelley and Jackson Mulligan and great great grandchild Ella Kate Smith; and loving caregivers Dafina Shearry, Latachria (Pat) Roberts, Shanita (Nita) Jackson, and Eula Mann. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton J. McMichen and her two brothers Ben and Frank.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Carson McLane Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Craig Rikard officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Flowers or donations to the Langdale Hospice House will be accepted.
