Evelyn Caldwell Brinson

Evelyn Caldwell Brinson, 97, of Valdosta, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Fellowship Home. She was born on November 1, 1925, in Brooks County, GA, to the late Joseph and Cora Guess Parker. Mrs. Brinson was an avid traveler and enjoyed working in her yard. Mrs. Brinson was a lifelong member of Central Avenue Church of Christ, and her family was the center of her life.

Mrs. Brinson is survived by her son, Monty Caldwell (Sheryl), of Valdosta; daughter, Scarlet Cooper (Randy), of Valdosta; grandchildren, Tanya Lovett (BJ), of Hahira, Kenny Caldwell (Keshia), of Hiram, GA, Michelle Caldwell, of Hiram, GA, Lauren Pate (Stuart), of Tifton, GA, Ryan Cooper, of Atlanta; her great grandchildren, Kade Parsons, Connor Parsons, Eli Pate, and Cooper Pate; her brother, James Parker (Sylvia), of Hahira; sister, Kathleen Culpepper (Frank), of Valdosta; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Parker, of Hahira, and Mary Parker, of Valdosta; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 40 years, L.D. Caldwell, Jr., husband, Carl S. Brinson, and siblings, Florene DeLoach, Inez Steedley, Jake Parker, Ruth Bush, and Elmer Parker.

The family would like to express their thanks to her caregivers at Fellowship Home and Pruitt Hospice, for their care of Mrs. Brinson.

A funeral service for Mrs. Brinson will be held at 11am on Friday, May 12, 2023 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. John Klimko officiating. Entombment will follow at McLane Riverview Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
