Evelyn Arnold Dasher

Evelyn Arnold Dasher, 87, of Valdosta, died on Friday, July 11, 2008 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Born in Lowndes County on July 27, 1920 to the late Grover Cleveland Arnold, Sr. and Minnie Lee Wisenbaker Arnold, she was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Dasher was a homemaker and was very active at her church, Central Avenue Church of Christ. At Central, she taught Sunday School for many years, active with the ladies groups in the church and had traveled to New Zealand on several mission trips.
Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Nancy & Larry Oswald, of Gilbert, SC; two sons and daughters in law, Ronald & Phyllis Dasher of Rome, and Lawton & Pam Dasher of Valdosta; two grandsons, Drew (Jessica) Dasher of Loganville, Mark Dasher of Charleston, SC, and one step granddaughter Caroline Oswald of Lexington, SC; a great grandchild, Logan Dasher of Loganville. Also surviving are two brothers and sister in law, Loyce & Ruby Lee Arnold, and Durward Arnold, all of Lake Park, a sister in law, Fannie Dasher of Valdosta, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends Donna Padgett and Brittney Kendrick, and her beloved Tuffy. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Dasher; a daughter, Sandra Dasher; a great grandson, Landon Drew Dasher and two brothers, G.C. Arnold and Francis Arnold. The family would like to offer special thanks to Sonya Daniels, Shirley Arnold, Faye Bourquine and Bethany Hospice for the tender compassionate care they rendered to Mrs. Dasher for the last few years.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dasher will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday July 14, 2008 at Central Avenue Church of Christ. Mr. J.C. McMullen and Mr. John Klimko will officiate. Burial will follow at Dasher Cemetery.
