Eva Mcneal Lewis

Eva M. Lewis, 87, of the Presbyterian Home, Quitman, Georgia passed away on Friday, April 17, 2009. Mrs. Lewis was born on April 23, 1921 in Atkinson County, Georgia to the late Ivey Lee McNeal and Maude Eva Harrelson McNeal. She was a former bank teller in Valdosta and Columbus, Georgia, and for a number of years, a homemaker in Dothan, Alabama. She was a member of the Piney Grove United Methodist Church of Rehobeth, Alabama. Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband, John Green Lewis and two sisters, Elva Lee "Pat" Jones and Aleph Retha Wright.

Survivors include her brothers and their wives, Walter Paul McNeal and Brinkley of Valdosta, William T. McNeal and Cynthia of Leesburg, Georgia, Jimmy Thompson and Robin of Pikeville, Tennessee; her step-mother, Blanche McNeal of Dayton, Tennessee; seven nephews, Larry Jones of Valdosta, David Wright of Columbus, Stanley Wright of Mechanicsville, Virginia, Paul "Mac" McNeal and Lee Thomas McNeal of Valdosta, Curtis McNeal and Michael McNeal of Albany, Georgia; three nieces, Sandra Wright Kennedy of Oxford, Alabama, Brinkley M. Blair of Alpharetta and Dolores M. Braswell of Roswell, Georgia; two step-sons and their families, Jerry G. Lewis of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Kenneth Lewis of Dublin, Georgia; two step-daughters, Mrs. Margaret Ann Taylor of Phenix City, Alabama, Mrs. Martha Jean Watley; brother-in-law and his wife, Robert G. and Sarah Lewis of Dothan, Alabama; several great nieces, nephews and step grandchildren also survive.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Lewis will be held at Memory Hill Cemetery in Dothan, Alabama on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 2 p.m. (Central time). Dr. John Thomas will officiate.
