Eva Dean Pittman

Eva Dean Pittman, 77, of Valdosta died on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at South Georgia Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born in Hahira, Georgia on August 23, 1938 to the late James Clayton and Nellie Owens Howell and has been a lifelong resident of Lowndes County. She was a retired seamstress from the Levi Strauss Company and in her retirement enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, taking care of her cats, and making sure that her family and friends were cared for and loved.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Pittman of Valdosta; two daughters and a son-in-law, Paula and David Willer, and Deborah Ann Wilkinson all of Maiden, North Carolina; grandchildren, Janet Pittman of Lincolnton, North Carolina, Charlotte Green Burchell of Maiden, North Carolina, Michael Willer of Raleigh, North Carolina, Aaron Wilkinson of Hickory, North Carolina, Rachel Cerjan (Chris) of Raleigh, North Carolina; a great-granddaughter, Adison Dunston of Lincolnton, North Carolina; brothers and sisters, Jackie Southerland and Ronnie Howell both of Hahira, Earl and Linda Howell of Clyattville, Brenda Jones of Columbia, South Carolina; a sister-in-law, Carol Howell of Valdosta; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Howell and a sister, Jean Coffee.

A graveside service for Eva Dean Pittman will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday May, 10, 2016 at the Sunset Hill Cemetery with Rev. Frank Gupton officiating.
