Eunice F. Glisson

Eunice Faye Glisson, 84, of Valdosta, loving mother and grandmother, passed from this life on Sunday, October 6, 2013, at Langdale Hospice House.

She was born April 25, 1929 in Statenville, a daughter of Arthur H. and Lula Lightsey Hughes. Mrs. Glisson was a Christian and had attended the Forrest Park Church of Christ since her baptism in 1979. She was employed by Strickland Cotton Mills and retired from South Georgia Medical in 1994. She loved her job, the people she served and the friendships made along the way. One of her greatest joys in life was cooking and spending time with her loved ones.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Charles Glisson, Jr., and Bobby and Rebecca Glisson, all of Valdosta; two daughters and son-in-laws, Linda and John Beatie of Mineral Bluff, and Beverly and Marty Broome of Dasher; seven grandchildren, Devin Schaer, Sarah Broome, Ramsey Sumner, Derek Broome and wife Hannah, Christian Glisson, Cole Glisson and Candler Glisson; many special nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Lucas Martin Broome and Angelica Beatie; and six sisters and three brothers.

The Funeral Service for Ms. Glisson will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Terry Broome, Mr. Ray Joyner and Mr. Johnny Lightsey officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Langdale Hospice House.
