Eugene Talmadge Carter, 77, of Jacksonville, FL died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Riverwood Nursing Center. He was born in Valdosta on March 12, 1932 to the late Hiram and Pearl Storey Carter. Mr. Carter was a lineman with Burnup-Sims Cable T. V., a World War II Army Veteran and a Baptist.
He is survived by two daughters and one son in law, Kathy Williams of Lake City, FL, Angela and Alan Turner of High Springs, FL, one son, Eugene Carter of Fort White, FL, six grandchildren, Christina Miller, Luke Williams, Zack Brown, Robert Murray, Brad Murray and Candace Carter, three great grandchildren, Haley Williams, Jesse Williams and Mayson Miller, five sisters, Leona Upchurch of Clyattville, Flora Warren of Amelia, Virginia, Susie Hooper of Glendale, Arizona, Shirley Davis of Eleon Grove, Louisiana and Pearley Davis of Boise City, Louisiana, one brother, Pafford Carter of Valdosta. Mr. Carter is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Dora Youmans and four brothers, Charlie Carter, Mark Carter, Albert Carter and Coney Carter.
Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, January 24, 2010 at two p. m. at Hickory Grove Cemetery with Reverend Bob Willis officiating. Military honors will be rendered. Burial will follow.
