Eugene Ira (Gene) Forte

Eugene Ira (Gene) Forte, 63, of Valdosta, died Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Shand’s Hospital in Gainesville, FL due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident earlier in the week in Valdosta. He was born on May 2, 1944 in Hahira to the late Benjamin Odis and Mildred Martin Forte. Mr. Forte was a retired machinist from Lockheed and served in the United States Army.

He is survived by two sons, James Forte of Cartersville, GA and Christopher Forte of Canton, GA, three sisters and two brothers in law, Faye Nesmith of Thomasville, Florine and Ed Guess of Valdosta, Dora and Jay Clark of Dunlap, TN, two brothers and sisters in law, Ronald and Marilyn Forte of Middleburg, FL and Mike and Brenda Forte of Thomaston, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Forte is preceded in death by one son, Michael Forte and one brother, Wesley Forte.

Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at three p. m. at Friendship Cemetery in Hahira. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p. m. until 2:30 p. m. at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com.
