Eugene Demelt Babcock

June 19, 1929 — November 16, 2005

Eugene Demelt Babcock, 76, of Lake Park and formerly of Jennings, Florida, died at his home on Wednesday, November 16, 2005, after a short illness. Born in Springfield, South Dakota on June 19, 1929, he was the son of the late Maurice Putman and Blanche Almeda Demelt Babcock. Mr. Babcock was a retired U.S. Air Force MSSGT and also retired from Civil Service. He was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ.

Survivors are his wife, Ruth Babcock of Lake Park, daughter and son in law, Elizabeth and Dan McKenzie of Republic, Missouri, son and daughter in law, David and Cathy Babcock of Marrerow, Louisiana, step daughter, Lynn Pelfry, five grandchildren, ten great grandhildren, sister, Vera Tucker of Springfield, South Dakota, brother, Donnie Babcock of Phoenix, Arizona, numerous nieces and nephews, other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and his first wife, Lois Arenson Babcock.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, November 19, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Jennings Outdoor Resort and Campground Clubhouse. Condolences may be conveyed at www.mclanefuneralservices.com.
