Ethelene Brooks Bennett, 70, of Valdosta died on Friday, July 19, 2013 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 31, 1942 in Valdosta to the late John Lee and Della Pearl Brooks and has been a lifelong resident here. She was a homemaker and attended First Assembly of God in Valdosta. She lived life to the fullest and was a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include a son, Glenn Daniel Bennett of Valdosta; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Wayne Jarvis of Lakeland, Georgia; grandchildren, Michael Bennett of Clyattville, Ashley Bennett of Hahira, Breanna Jarvis, Janie Jarvis and Dustin Jarvis all of Lakeland; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Virgil and Louise Brooks of Lowndes County, Wilburn and Lil Brooks of Tennessee and Thomas and JoAnn Brooks of Brooks County; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Ertley and Elsie Berry.
Services for Ethelene Brooks Bennett will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the First Assembly of God with Pastor Ron Nichols officiating. The burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
