Ester Lee Burt Brown

Ester Lee Brown, 89, of Valdosta died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Heritage Healthcare at Lakehaven Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born in Moultrie, Georgia on February 19, 1924 to the late Luke and Sadie Lois Welch Johnson and lived in this area for many years. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church and was retired as a seamstress from Levi Strauss. She loved fishing, growing her flowers and playing UNO.

Survivors include her two daughters, Shirley Ann Martin and Betty Lee Coker both of Valdosta, daughter in law, Doris Burt of Dixie, 7-grandchildren, 15-great grandchildren, 5-great great grandchildren, two step grandsons, 5-step great grandchildren, her sister, Thelma Weeks of Pavo, the family would like to express appreciation to Pat, Elizabeth and Daphne at Lakehaven Nursing Home for their care for Mrs. Brown. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy Burt and Leon P. Brown, her son, Leroy Burt, one grandson and four brothers.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30am, Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Chaplain Sandra McDowell officiating.
